Avast still makes its own brand of antivirus and VPN, and both brands continue to coexist today.ĪVG Secure VPN and Avast SecureLine are essentially the same service. AVG, the company behind AVG antivirus, didn’t start selling its VPN until after Avast acquired AVG in 2016. AVG Secure VPN might sound familiar, but that sense of familiarity is probably tied to an antivirus more than a VPN.
